The power of writing down intentions

Today I would like to share a story to show the power of writing down your intentions and goals. Four weeks ago I went to the money exchange to get some additional Hong Kong dollars and Chinese yuan for my travels. My sister paid for me first, because I didn’t carry that much cash at the time. All up, the amount I owed her totaled to 1200 dollars. She said I can pay her back when I return. While in Hong Kong, I wrote down an intention to pay her back, but I added a condition that extra money would come to me to cover the amount. Every now and then, I would remember my written intention.

Three weeks later, before I returned to Australia, my mum gave me 1000 dollars as a birthday gift. The next day, my sister too gave me 200 dollars for my birthday as well. So I got the 1200 dollars that I needed to return to her! I paid back the loan to her without any financial contribution from my pocket. The only contribution I made was my power of intention.

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” (Isaiah 55.1)

There is power in writing down our goals. Writing down equates to clarity of thought and intention. I hope all my readers will take the time to write down their goals, intentions and resolutions for this year.
